Art is a journey.

As an artist the journey is often complex, filled with times of doubt, insecurities, euphoria or accomplishment. Beauty in art comes from the unpredictability of an outcome, such as natural dyeing or the impulsive urge to just paint. These works have developed over time. A time of experimentation trial and error, an exploration of colour, medium, surface and impact. Working through different ideas and bringing each piece to fruition, has been an exercise with purpose and resolution. All art has a beginning, mine began with the need to escape the everyday by imitation and colour. We are often driven towards a piece of artwork through an emotional connection, whether it is the colours that attracts us or the image itself. Art can resonate through us, to the point where it can have an emotional impact, something no other medium can achieve.
